A message from the Executive Director, Monica G. Tibbits
Welcome to the TransitWorks website! TransitWorks began in 1997 as a collaborative initiative, joining the business community, local municipalities, Boston region transit riders, and other interests under a single umbrella organization. This collaboration was dedicated to maintaining the quality and service levels of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), and realized great success over a four year period, from 1997-2001. After 2001, the initial collaborators of TransitWorks continued to see the opportunity and promise of TransitWorks and re-established the program three years later, in 2004. Today, TransitWorks is designed to repeat and expand upon past successes.
The key ingredient to our successes has been the active participation of the riding public. Your continued participation will enable TransitWorks to deliver essential customer feedback to the MBTA - and will in turn enable TransitWorks to help the MBTA provide you, the rider, with the highest quality service possible. Your opinions about the MBTA are important, and are in fact the key to our success! You can get involved by 1) signing up as a TransitWorks volunteer or “Charlie”, 2) signing up to receive our e-mail announcements and newsletters, or 3) sending us your feedback about the MBTA service.
